Do you like books about the Civil War? If you do then Soldier's Heart is the book for you! Gary Paulsen has did it once again he has put pure genius into a book you just got to wonder how he does it.
Soldier's Heart takes place during the Civil War and is about a boy who lies about his age to serve in war. As we all know fighting in war is already dangerous enough for a full grown adult, so how is war going to be for a 14 year old. Will he even make it past his first battle or will he die a terrible death?
What I like is how Gary Paulsen makes it seem like it all really did happen. He makes it seem so realistic like that you are the kid fighting in the Civil War.

Brian's Winter
Do you remember how Hatchet ended? But what if Brian wasn't rescued and had to survive winter? How will he survive? Read the book Brian's winter (One of the greatest books) to find out how!
Brian's winter takes place after Hatchet if Brian was never rescued. He will have to find a way to stay warm, find more food, and survive the animals of the winter. Will he find help? Will the rescue plane ever come? Will he see his family again? That I can not tell you, you'll have to read the book.
I like how Gary Paulsen does that what if he wasn't rescued. And how he makes it believable that Brian was just an ordinary kid with no camping experience what so ever. And how he connects this to the other books like: The River, Brian's Return, and maybe even in Brian's hunt (The only one in the Hatchet series I haven't read)

Diary of a Wimpy Kid
Do you like to read? Do you love to laugh? Do you enjoy illustrations to show whats happening? Then Diary of a Wimpy kid is the book for you. This book is just completely hilarious so why not read such a great book.
Diary of a Wimpy kid is about a boy named Greg Heffley who's mom bought him a journal to write down what happens to him the only problem is it say diary on the front even though Greg told his mom not to buy the one with diary on it. When reading the book you will find out about all of the wacky things that happens to him during that year. In the book he will have to make it through a year of bullies, annoying friends, weird kids, his brother Rodrick (who constantly picks on him), his little brother Manny (who's always messing things up), and more.
I like how Jeff Kinney makes it look like your actually reading a journal. like when you read a page or two it will begin like Monday October 17 an then he will start talking about what happened.
